Inxpect for a safe Magic Queen

Inxpect for a safe Magic Queen

Unveiled at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale, "Magic Queen" by Tiziano Derme and Daniela Mitterberger is an artistic representation of an artificial eco-system, one where robots are integrated into a self-restoring and self-nurturing environment with organic material.

The space is a performative soil-3d printed robotic garden that uses sensors, responsive technologies, and machine learning to create continuous feedback between sensing, virtualizing, and induced change.

Being open to the public, the safety aspects of the installation need to be managed appropriately, and the artists together with the robot manufacturer decided to employ the innovative Inxpect safety radars for this.

"It is probably the first time ever that a robotic installation at the Biennale is open to the public without any physical safety barriers", declared Tiziano Derme, one of the authors of the futuristic display. For the first time Inxpect radars, generally used in industrial environments, land in an international architecture exhibition.

We look forward to seeing you in Venice!
